Food and Drink

Devon and in particular Dartmoor is blessed with rolling farmland and huge coastlines which result in an abundance of high quality meat, game, fish and fresh vegetables which can be found both in local restaurants, local farmer's markets and local butchers, bakers and greengrocers in Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead.

High End Dining

High End Dining can be experienced at The Gidleigh Park Hotel, Bovey Castle and the newly opened Lympstone Manor in Exmouth run by the celebrated chef Michael Caine who has been awarded a Michelin Star just six months after opening.

More informal, family style dining can be found at:-

Had a lovely relaxing time in spite of the weather not being too good. Swam in the mornings and when the sun shone went out. Moors are lovely this time of year. Widdicombe, Totnes, Cockington - all cute little villages. Chagford small but has one of the biggest shops ever, pub lunch there too and dogs welcome inside. Stone Lane Arboretum with sculptures was lovely (met Joe Swift who was filming a garden program there!) Trago Mills has everything for a wet day. Saw some lovely rainbows due to wet weather. Heron in pond to visit and a couple of stoats.. Best of all is the swimming pool though worst of all the drive to get here! September 2013
